2012-13 SEASON

Pounding the pavement to get cast in a Broadway show, sixteen aspiring actresses share a boarding house in New York City in the hopes of making it big on the Great White Way!  The hilarious and sometimes heart-breaking stories are portrayed through a cast of vibrant characters who steadfastly pursue their careers in the theatre against the odds. The central plot follows courageous Terry Randall who refuses to compromise her dream, her roommate who decides to "go Hollywood," and the wide-eyed newcomer just trying to learn the ropes.  Add in a slew of gentleman callers, a movie magnate, and a spoiled star, and you'll want to check into the Footlights Club and join the girls!

SWEENEY TODD

Set in 19th century London, this frightening musical thriller tells the gruesome, grisly tale of the murderous barber Sweeney Todd who returns from exile to seek revenge on the judge who falsely put him away.  Teaming up with Mrs. Lovett, the owner of a struggling pie shop, his thirst for blood expands to include his unfortunate customers and the whole human race.  And Mrs. Lovett finds some new ingredients for her savory pies. Winner of the 1979 Tony Award for Best Musical, Sondheim's masterpiece includes the deliciously wicked songs "A Little Priest," "Pretty Women," and "Not While I'm Around."  Everyone seeks revenge, but seldom as well as Sweeney Todd.

A MID-SUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

One of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage, this delightful comedy follows the adventures of four young lovers and the mishaps that befall them when they run into the dreamlike Athenian woods.  Adding to the hilarity are a frolicsome group of fairies who love to interfere, a magical love potion that gets mistakenly used, and a band of misfit actors who perform the worst rendition of "Pyramus and Thisbe" that anyone has ever seen.  Sure to please audiences of all ages, this enduring work could be the funniest play ever written, or it could just be a dream.
